Help Students Continue Their Education After the Assam Floods 2026

When the floodwaters rose across Assam, thousands of students lost their books, notebooks, and school bags. A small contribution from you can help them return to school with hope — and ensure the floods don't wash away their right to learn.

Every penny Can Help a Child Learn Again

About the Campaign

Flood Education Relief – Assam

Every penny Can Help a Child Learn Again

Every year, the monsoon floods in Assam disrupt lives, homes, and livelihoods. In 2026, the floods were especially severe — entire villages were submerged, schools were damaged, and thousands of children watched their books, notebooks, and school bags get swept away or ruined by the rising waters. For a child already facing hardship, losing the simple tools of learning can mean losing a whole year of school, and sometimes giving up altogether.

Flood Education Relief – Assam is a community initiative led by the All India Education Association (AIEA) to make sure that a natural disaster does not become the end of a child's education. We are a group of educators, volunteers, and well-wishers who believe that every child deserves the chance to keep learning — no matter what the weather has done to their home.

Our goal is simple. We are asking every well-wisher to contribute just ₹100. That single, small contribution goes directly toward buying school books, notebooks, pencils, pens, rulers, erasers, and school bags for students whose families are already struggling to rebuild after the floods. One hundred rupees from you can hand a child back the books the water took away.

We work directly with affected schools and local volunteers to identify the students who need help the most, and we share updates openly so you can see exactly how your contribution is being used. No middlemen, no overhead surprises — just classrooms filling up again with children who have the tools to learn.

Together, we can ensure that no child in Assam stops learning because of a flood they did not cause. Every penny you give helps a child learn again.

Accountability & News

Accountability must comealongside the relief

Year and again, we’ve seen the world pray and donate for Assam Floods and yet, the ministers responsible never seem to get out of their comfy beds until more than a dozen lives are lost and lakhs of families have been displaced.

We have just one question: Why no flood damage prevention? Why only flood relief? Can we not relocate the people to safer locations before the floods hit? Are we scientifically backward or mentally? Amidst the relief and support, ACCOUNTABILITY MUST COME.

GST Revenue of the Affected Districts

₹1,800–2,200

crore in GST revenue annually

Based on our calculations, the districts of Charaideo, Sivasagar, Golaghat, and Jorhat collectively contribute approximately ₹1,800 crore to ₹2,200 crore in GST revenue annually. This figure pertains solely to GST and does not include other taxes.

Given their significant contribution, these districts now require extensive reconstruction and a permanent solution to address the man-made disaster.
